Web 2.0 Applications

Glogster

To be frank, I'm still not a huge fan of Glogster. That may change, but my experience so far is that Glogs tend to be really slow to load and they need to be done really well to be worth the effort of bringing them up. That being said, the Glog below is not my best effort, but at least now I know how to make one! I'll probably try Glogster out a little more before I pass my final judgement, though.

Delicious.com

Here's the link to my Delicious page: https://delicious.com/mcobb12

This could be quite useful. I've used bookmarking via Yahoo and Google before. I can see how the social aspect of this could be handy too.

Google Docs

I've been using Google Docs since about 2007, and since AISD provides teachers with Google Docs (Drive) accounts automiatically, I often use Google Drive to create presentations for lessons, but the drawback is that only people with AISD email addresses can see them. So here is a sample from my personal Google account. Rather than simply linking to it, I've actually embedded it in the code of this page.

Wiki-wiki-wiki!

So I understand the basic idea of Wikis, but I'm not sure it's something I'll actually use. I've been using technology in my classroom, and although I could see how someone might use a Wiki, I'm not sure I see a place where it fits in with my own technology use.

Digital Storytelling
I decided to try out Animoto. Pretty cool! I think of it as a video version of Prezi. Easy to use, and with fairly high-quality templates that make basic stuff look more polished and engaging.

Earlier this year, my wife and I took some of our AVID students to check out what Texas State University had to offer. I decided to use a few pics from that trip (since all of those kids have signed photograph waivers).

My Other "Web 2.0" Applications

For my class currently, we use Edmodo, ClassJump, Educreations, and most recently Doceri (which is FANTASTIC for a number of reasons).
